Welcome to my first blog post. If you check me out on Amazon, you'll see that I've published eight lesbian romance novels--soon to be nine, but more about that later.
What you may not realize is that I wrote my first novel, which has received five-star ratings, after I was retired. I'd written short stories as a kid and young adult, but for years I put my writing off in favor of my career and being around people who didn't understand or who weren't supportive.
When I finally started writing, it was as if a floodgate had opened. I literally wrote twelve novels in a single year! If you've heard of National Novel Writing Month, you know the goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. Well, I did that every month for twelve months!
I'm continuing to write new novels, even as my first novels are being edited and put up for sale. (My editor, by the way, is Debra Stang. You'll hear more about her in later posts. For now, suffice it to say that she is accepting new clients.)
I guess there are two things I'm trying to say with this introduction. The first, of course, is that I'd love you to try my books. There is something for everyone including suspense stories, ghost stories, classic romances, and novels about lesbian domestic violence and the after-effects of dealing with a double mastectomy. My motto is, "True to life, true to love."
The second thing I would like to say is that it's never too late to pursue your dreams. If you have a novel in you, make it happen! I'll be sharing my writing techniques and story ideas in this blog, and I hope it helps you get your stories on paper, too.
My next blog post will share details from my new novel Red Hot Cyber Love, about a lesbian learning how to navigate an online dating site. Oh, the people she meets before true love finally crosses her path--and when it does cross her path, will she even recognize it?
Fantastic!!!! Lotsa love from your sister/cousin Ann
